What if Camping is Too Hot in Summer?

Spending a night in nature camping and sleeping under the stars is a magical plan. This is an ideal choice for those who seek freedom and rest. Relaxing with family, friends, partners, and even alone in a green environment is real wealth. After the arrival of the epidemic, more and more fans claimed that they fell in love with "camping life", and it was not too much. Preparation is everything

Wear the right layers

If possible, wear dry clothing before bedtime. Avoid cotton and opt for wool or synthetic thermal fabric instead. Wear a warm hat, socks, and everything else until the layers feel good. Additional thermal liners can be attached to the sleeping bag, which not only heats up but also prevents your sleeping bag from getting dirty.

Remember that sleeping bags provide insulation and do not generate heat.

Think of a refrigerator: if you put it in something hot, it will keep you warm. When it gets cold, it stays cold. So try to warm up your body instead of crawling into your sleeping bag if you are covered with goosebumps. When you do jumps or push-ups, your blood pumps enough to raise your core temperature.

Minimize spaces.

Your body works hard to heat the air in your sleeping bag, much like a heater in a closet. The emptier the room, the harder your body must work. Use padded dry jackets or clothing in your bag to fill the empty spaces, or put additional baffles under your body to make the sleeping bag smaller. If you have a sleeping bag, make sure the top lining covers your head and wraps the opening around your face.

Have dinner before bed.

Your body uses a lot of heat to generate electricity, and a small snack before bedtime can provide fuel for the long night. Simply avoid sugar and opt for high-protein, high-fat foods such as nuts, dried meat, or cheese instead.

The unexpected guests.

Before going to bed, try to store your food in airtight bags in which the smell cannot escape, and do not leave food in the tent. In Australia, for example, opossums have the nose of a motorhome and taste for food, and have no qualms about penetrating the tent fabric to get their reward. If you are in California, the land of bears, buy an anti-bear container and tie it with a rope at some distance to the top of a tree to avoid the smells of these intruders, which will certainly give you a night of terror and little rest.

The residual heat of your feet is a great incentive for many cold-blooded insects looking for a warm, dark refuge to hide in. That is if you still have some space for it. If you want to spend a restful night, always keep the tent umbrella closed to prevent mosquitoes and moths from entering the tent. The paranoia of the constant humming and stinging of insects is not pleasant.
